Fields, Gary. "White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs' - WSJ.com." The Wall Street Journal. 14
        May 2009. Web. 27 Sept. 2010. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124225891527617397.html.

This article states that the White House is now calling for the end on the criminal persecution for use of drugs. It proves that drugs are now becoming more acceptable in society. The government itself, while not essentially condoning the use of drugs, as in Brave New World, is calling to cease the criminalization of narcotics, which can eventually lead to encouragement.

Bozell III, L. Brent. "Television Programming Is Promoting Promiscuity | Insight on the News Newspaper | Find Articles at BNET." Find Articles at BNET | News Articles, Magazine Back Issues & Reference Articles on All Topics. 12 Feb. 2001. Web. 13 Oct. 2010. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_6_17/ai_72272422/.

This article deals with the growing acceptance of teenage promiscuity in America. As one of the website's correspondents quoted, "American morals may frown on teen-age sex, but America's commercial media seem to encourage it." The rise in promiscuity among teenagers and the decrease of social concern seems to almost parallel the idea about sex in Brave New World.

"Americans Reading Less, Study Finds - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com." FOXNews.com - Breaking News | Latest News | Current News. 19 Nov. 2007. Web. 13 Oct. 2010. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312130,00.html.

This article talks about how America is not reading as much. In Brave New World, reading was frowned upon and no one read.  It is now seeming that people are not thinking that reading is important, which could lead to the eventual shunning of reading as a whole.

Austin, Anastacia M. "Scientist Successfully Clones Himself, Creates ‘Mature’ Embryos." Buzzle Web Portal: Intelligent Life on the Web. 19 Jan. 2008. Web. 19 Oct. 2010. http://www.buzzle.com/articles/human-cloning/.

This article discusses the progress that has been made in human cloning, where a California scientist evidently cloned human embryos of himself that could then be potentially transferred to a woman's uterus to complete development. This, according to other scientists, is a huge step in cloning progress, proving that there is now nothing to keep from cloning actual human infants. This is a huge parallel to Brave New World, where everyone is cloned, rather than born. How long will it be now before we begin seeing significant numbers of babies being cloned?

Web. 19 Oct. 2010. http://ezinearticles.com/?Hypnopaedia---Does-Sleep-Programming-Really-Work?&id=5044183.

This article deals with the subject of hypnopaedia, or sleep learning. In Brave New World, all the children are subjected to thousands of subliminal messages while they sleep to instill in them what the society deems is necessary for them to know. By the time they are adults, they can recite all the messages they were told, even though they never actually heard them. According to this article, sleep learning is actually fairly effective over time, exactly as it was in Brave New World. Will sleep learning eventually overtake actual conscious studying? Probably not, but it might one day become a prominent and well-known form of learning.
